Venango County 8th Annual Shine a Light on Suicide Night Kayak

August 23 @ 6:30 pm - 10:00 pm

Free

The Venango County Suicide Prevention Task Force will be holding their 8th Annual Shine a Light on Suicide Night Kayak; Saturday August 23rd, 2025.     This free event is held at Two Mile Run County Park and is to raise awareness and reduce stigma surrounding the topics of mental health and suicide.  Participants decorate their kayaks and float on the lake.  Opportunities to engage with Venango County service providers are also available.  We have hired a DJ for this year and are planning to have more games and activities for the younger participants who attend.  Door prizes, giveaways, and light refreshments are also provided.  Colored beads will be available again to those in attendance and the different colors represent various topics such as those who have experienced the loss of a loved one to suicide, those who may be struggling themselves, etc.  If you have questions about the event, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at 814-432-9120.
