SUMMARY:10th Annual Erie Suicide Prevention Conference
DESCRIPTION:The 10th Annual Erie County Suicide Prevention Conference is a collaborative effort of the Suicide Prevention Advisory Board of Erie County and UPMC Western Behavioral Health at Safe Harbor to provide education and connection amongst our community members to grow our presence in suicide prevention and intervention. \nTarget Audience \nNurse\, Nurse Practitioner\, Pharmacist\, Physician\, Physician Assistant\, Psychologist\, Social Worker \nLearning Objectives \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n– Develop an understanding of the areas that may affect individuals’ statistical likelihood of experiencing suicidal ideation and attempts.\n-Explore and develop strategies to create protective environments including reduction of access to lethal means\, creating healthy organizations through policy and culture\, and reduction of substance use.\n-Develop strategies to improve access to and delivery of mental health and suicide care.\n-Explore and develop strategies to lessen harm and prevent future risk through intervention after a suicide\, building collaborative relationships\, and utilizing creative outlets for coping with loss and personal suicide attempt experiences.\n-Develop strategies for collaboration throughout the process of prevention and supporting individuals who are currently experiencing thoughts of suicide. \n\n\n\n\n  \n  \nDate: September 29\, 2026 \n\n\n\n\nTime: 8:15 am to 4:00 pm \nLocation: Bayfront Convention Center\, 1 Sassafras Pier\, Erie\, PA 16507 \nRegistration Fees: \nProfessional (includes CE) –  $75\nNon-Professional (no CE) – $60\nStudent – $40 \n  \n5.0 credits will be provided to those registered for the following disciplines:  Physicians (AMA PRA)\, Physician Assistants (AAPA)\, Nursing and Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CNE)\, Social Work/ Counseling (ASWB)\, Psychologists (APA)\, and Educators (Act 48).
