2023 Suicide Awareness Day at the Capitol

Suicide Prevention Alliance will host Suicide Prevention Day at the Pennsylvania State Capitol on September 26, 2023, 
from 10:00 am – 11:30 pm. Join suicide prevention advocates, suicide attempt and loss survivors, legislators, Suicide Prevention Task Forces, and mental health professionals for an important day at the Capitol. We will be raising awareness for suicide prevention and offering hope at the PA State Capitol Rotunda. Display tables will provide free information such as brochures, resources, wristbands, etc.
According to the latest statistics, 1885 people died by suicide in Pennsylvania, which averages approximately 5 per day. In PA, Suicides are the 3rd leading cause of death for ages 10-24. 3rd leading cause of death for ages 25-34. 4th leading cause of death for ages 35-44.
WHO SHOULD COME: Anyone who has been impacted by suicide, Attempt/Loss Survivors, Suicide Prevention Advocates, County Suicide Prevention Task Forces, Mental Health Professionals, etc.,
