Education / Awareness

There are many ways that YOU can help Suicide Prevention Alliance and preventing suicide.

The first thing that you can do is become educated on suicide prevention.  Take one of our evidenced based classes that we offer (QPR (Question Persuade Refer), ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training), Mental Health First Aid and Youth Mental Health First Aid.  You can also spread the word about our trainings as well as we provide trainings to anyone/anywhere (Schools, local business, churches, first responders, physicians, clinicians, barbers/beauticians, bartenders, gun shops, etc)

You can also join your local Suicide Prevention Task Force and see how you can help your local community into spreading awareness concerning suicide prevention.

Ways to Help

  • Use Your Voice

Start talking about suicide at the dinner table or when you’re out with your family and friends. Ask them “If you were in Crisis, who would you call?”  Start that Conversation with those you know first.   You can also use your voice to talk to your local House Representative or State Senator on the issue of suicide.  Let them know that know we need more awareness and funding surrounding suicide.
