2025 Suicide Prevention/Awareness Day at the Capitol – September 10, 2025

Suicide Prevention Alliance will host Suicide Awareness Day at the Pennsylvania State Capitol on September 10th, from 10:00 am – 11:30 pm.  Join suicide prevention advocates, suicide attempt and loss survivors, legislators, Suicide Prevention Task Forces, and mental health professionals for an important day at the Capitol. We will be raising awareness for suicide prevention and offering hope at the PA State Capitol Rotunda.  Display tables will provide free information such as brochures, resources, wristbands, etc.

According to the latest statistics, ​1,936 people died by suicide in Pennsylvania, which averages approximately 5 per day who take their own lives.  In PA, suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death between ages 15-24, the 3rd leading cause of death between ages 35-44, and the 4th leading cause of death between ages 45-54.   

WHO SHOULD COME:  Suicide Prevention Advocates, County Suicide Prevention Task Forces, Mental Health Professionals, and all those who have been impacted by suicide.
