Heather McLean
Heather currently serves as the Outreach Coordinator for MHA-SWPA, where a big part of her job is coordinating trainings and also facilitating. She has spent 12+ years in business development which has given her a wealth of knowledge when it comes to networking, fostering, relationships, and learning the needs of 1000+ accounts she oversaw.
Serving as the Chair for Ray of Hope, she oversees the coordinator along with the 7 sub-committees that fall under the task force. She has spent the last 4 years growing the task force, implanting the full-time coordinator, writing grants, forming lasting partnerships with many local organizations which has allowed the task force to grow tremendously.
Suicide Prevention has become her passion and a great deal of my work is dedicated to suicide awareness and supporting suicide attempt and loss survivors. Suicide can affect anyone at any time. The ripple effect from a suicide is astounding. Her goal is to reach people and for them to know that they are not alone, and that hope is available. Connecting people to resources and supporting people with a listening ear.
Suicide is the most preventable kind of death. Getting people, the access to care and
support saves lives. (Nothing is more important than that)
